general rules

-Never come to get pierced with an empty belly
-Don’t make use of drugs or alcohol 24hours prior to and following the piercing.
-Don’t use medication containing aspirin 24hours prior to and following the piercing.
-You will NEVER touch your new piercing without having carefully cleaned your hand before!
-Don’t manipulate your piercing, don’t play with the ring, this propagates bacterium and slows down the cicatrisation process.
-Don’t scratch the small scab forming around your new piercing, it is only lymph, You can clean the deposit of lymph on your jewellery.
-Don’t take baths avoid saunas etc during the healing period!
-No swimming pools or ocean baths during the week that follows a new piercing. After this week, you will carefully rinse your piercing with clear water in between each bath.
-Dress only with clean clothes use only clean towels!
-Avoid tight clothes or clothing that could rub against your piercing! Don’t try to take off your piercing by yourself during the healing period!!
-Don’t listen to others as each one reacts differently. Instead, listen to yourself and in case of doubts, contact us!

home care

During the healing period (usually from 8 to 12 weeks) it twill be your daily duty to keep your new piercing in its best condition. You will avoid wearing dirty and/or clothes that could compress or rub the piercing or even move it. You will also avoid high risks of bacterial contamination places such as saunas, hammams, swimming pools tanning beds etc. Lastly, you will NEVER touch your piercing without having carefully cleaned your hand before. At Red Light District we don’t recommend the use of disinfectant, of any product that could cause an irritation of your skin or the use of salted water to clean up your piercing.

follow up

You will come back within 15 days in order for us to check the good cicatrisation process. (you can also come every week or every day if it made you feel better).In case of pain, redness or doubts, in case you need additional information after your piercing, you can reach us every day by phone.

As of today, there is not legal regulation about piercing in Switzerland and each piercer offers his own method based on his own experience.
